not-fun asked: it also doesn't help that a lot of people online (tumblr especially) use their diagnosis as ASD as an excuse for repellent behavior. i had someone spout racist and sexist comments for me for my post about americans and our gun issues, and when i told them it was out of line they went "lol but i have aspergers!!!"

This is seriously an archivist problem, though.
I now feel incompetent at what I do because of this one letter being illegible despite the fact that I’m normally really good at transcribing.
Quick, someone cheer me up so I don’t feel like a horrible archivist.

When you get a one-page letter to transcribe, your shortest letter in ages, it’s really, really exciting. Then you look at it and it’s illegible and your good mood is soiled.
