Everything about this is true. I’ve seen men fall into ‘nice guy syndrome’ before, and it really sucks for them because what it does is only further ensure that they won’t get dates/fall in love/get married.

Basically, the only thing you should expect from being nice to people is having people be nice to you in return. If you assume being nice should lead to getting laid, you’re doing it wrong.
