Steph is a 2011 graduate of Gettysburg College (majored in history, minored in Civil War Era studies) and current graduate student at Pratt Institute (library science with a focus in Archival Studies) who loves baseball, anime, writing, drawing, Rogue Squadron, cars (and Top Gear), comedy (especially its history and, naturally, the British variety) and her cats and Old English Sheepdogs. Fond of Stanford even though she doesn't go there. Has Asperger's syndrome, a mild form of autism. Created the 30-Day Baseball Meme. One time she made a music video about Buster Keaton's love affair with trains. Since she's an archivist-in-training, she often preserves things on her own. See her scans here.

Author of the webcomic The Historians, the excuse to draw dead comedians called Comedian Heaven, and Londinium, a novel in the making set in 1863 London. Scriptwriter for the webcomic Home By Now, a story about time travel, music, history and general hijinks (meet the incredible artist here!).

Very occasionally posts about herself when she's not posting about baseball, dead people, Top Gear or her pets.

Ells and Clyde are going to get the 30-day OTP meme treatment, so get ready for a ton of awkwardness. AW YEAH.

So I have a Clyde and Rory and staturescout has a Clyde and a Rorri.

I drew them all together.

(My Clyde is the short one and my Rory is the one that looks like James May. Debbie’s Clyde is the tall one and her Rorri is the ghost.)

Cell phone photos of the lineart I’ve finished so far today!

The top one is two Clydes, Rory and Rorri (staturescout and I each have characters named Clyde and Rory/Rorri and I was so excited that I had to draw a thing).

The bottom one is cearbhal’s birthday present. Yes, it’s a Coppertone parody with a St. Bernard in place of that little terrier.

Only lineart left to do today - the thing clarabows and I came up with last night and those Sons of the Desert doodles! I’ve got four hours and forty-five minutes left at work to get it all done in, which is plenty of time. (I work here and catch up on grad school things and art when we don’t have visitors.)

staturescout:

Happy birthday to Steph! I drew Clydes. /) 3 (\ I almost wrote 24 because it’s still 10PM here heh. Have a great one, dear!

I JUST ALMOST MADE A SQUEALING NOISE IN PUBLIC I LOVE YOU

This is what happens when you let a bunch of nerds hang out.

Constable Butts (the redhead) belongs to Oly, but Rory, Clyde and Clarence are all my responsibility, and apparently with friends like them, who needs enemies?

Things are getting a little better around here on the art front, thankfully. I’m catching up on the ask blog slowly but surely, so within this week I might actually have nothing to worry about over there anymore. YAY.

Also, don’t forget that today is Historians update day! Ells and Clyde finally showed up. Losers.

Except that there are no comics drawn yet, but basically Ells and Clyde, huge Top Gear UK aficionados (and stars of The Historians), are going to attempt to watch Top Gear USA and talk about it in comic form to tell you all, amongst other things, what it does right and wrong.

Also, don’t worry, they’re struggling through this because they love the UK version to bits and pieces. Their main task is to find similarities between the original and the USA version and comment on what works and what doesn’t for the USA version, but they’re definitely having some trouble because they miss the original TG3. This is a challenge unlike which they’ve ever faced before.

They’re brave, brave souls, these two.

…and if you know what I like to watch on TV, you’ll figure out what I did with Clyde, Rory and Clarence pretty quickly. It’s actually pretty obvious even if you don’t know what I like to watch on TV since almost everyone watches this show either way.

I caught up fairly well yesterday, but here’s what else I still need to do:

I especially want to get around to doing that last one because whilst the one-page stories are cute and fun, it’s time to get a little more ambitious and tell real stories with these characters. I’ve gotten to know the new folks and reconnected with the old, so I think it’s time I get cracking on some longer stories.

There is also going to be a side project called Ells and Clyde Watch Top Gear USA. I’m serious. (Of course, this means I have to watch it, which is going to be an interesting experience because I’ll be comparing it to the almighty Top Gear UK, my all-time favorite TV show.)

Alrighty, here’s that stuff I need to work on:

I’ve also got something special in the works for The Historians - a little side project that Ells and Clyde are putting together. It involves watching the international versions of their favorite television show and seeing what works, what doesn’t and where there are ties to the original. (If you know their favorite TV show, that makes this whole thing very obvious.)

YOU CAN NOW SPONSOR THESE LOSERS!

Seriously. If you have a webcomic and it has a logo of any sort/you design a logo, it can go on these folks’ cars and coveralls. For free.

That’s free advertising for you and my main characters and their racing team have “sponsors!” We all win!

Let me know if you want your story/webcomic/project included!

Ells and Clyde are here to remind you that The Historians updates at midnight, so you should go and read it by clicking on this picture.

Seriously, Steph. You’re not feeling well today, and it’s definitely showing in your idea-maker.

Ells likes him. A lot. For obvious reasons if you’re one of those people who have known her since I created her (which was in 2004, holy crap).

Guys, Ells has a love interest now! OooOOOoooh!
