My kid brother goes to BU and sent me a lovely collection of Red Sox stuff for my birthday since he knows me so well. This was one of the things he sent.
I scanned it in because Jacoby actually looks like a model on the cover and I find it both really nice to look at and really amusing at the same time.
I covet Jacoby Ellsbury so, so much.

Wait, did someone do another story on this and I missed it? I first read about this back in 2008. They were both on an Oregon all-star team made up of high school students. Trevor Crowe was on the team, too. Anyway, the team went down to Arizona and played against a junior college team. That was the first year the high school students beat the junior college students.
Then they all went to different Pac-10 schools and played against each other in college (Jed was at Stanford because he’s the smart one, and then Jacoby went to Oregon State and Trevor went to the University of Arizona).
…I’ll stop now. Basically, I know an excessive amount of stuff about Jed Lowrie. At one point when he was still a prospect if you Googled him my Livejournal came up. .___.

Not at a college laundry room. I’m being a grown-up today.
The real purpose of this post was to announce that I got an Oregon quarter out of the change machine. My first year of college, I had one on my dorm room desk that I’d rub for good luck whenever Jacoby Ellsbury or Jed Lowrie was up. I lost it somehow over the summer of 2008. I have not gotten an Oregon quarter again until just now.
This one’s staying.
The New York Mets are targeting Boston’s Jacoby Ellsbury and may seek to acquire the speedy outfielder this winter, according to the Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo and multiple sources within the Mets organization.
LOLWUT - in complete seriousness, the Mets are overflowing with outfielders. They have no need for Jacoby. Besides, who would they send to Boston in return? I watch both of these teams and this move just wouldn’t make any sense to me.
