Hey, Tumblr, the baseball player I named my cat after made a great play at second base and had a walk-off hit tonight!
YEAH SO HAVE A PICTURE OF CAT!MURPHY BECAUSE I CAN.
I got a new Nikon for my birthday! And last night, I went to see the Mets play the Nationals and I took this.
What I’m currently watching at the laundromat. (He was clearly safe on the TV broadcast, too. So that was a horrible call.)
Rays Sign Chris Carter - Sadly, his nicknames, “Baseball Cyborg” and “The Animal”, will remain the most noteworthy part of his career.
Phillies Invite Delwyn Young to Spring Training - I always like to pretend that these are like actual party invitations. I imagine that Amaro calling…
David Murphy, not Daniel. Daniel’s with the Mets still. I almost had a heart attack thinking something had happened to my cat’s namesake…
:9 mmmm yummy

Oh, be still my heart.
The namesake of my cat!

I noticed a bunch of you were reblogging the photo I posted of Daniel Murphy’s little brother at Jacksonville, so here’s Daniel himself playing for the Dolphins some time ago.
I’ll love you forever if you do!
This is from his elementary school year book. Most kids say they want to be a baseball player then they grow up, but Murphy said “Insurance Person”. Ironically enough, he grew up to be a baseball player while most people probably did grow up to have 9-5 jobs.
MURPHY IS SO PRESH.
I’m curious - where’d you get this?

BABY DANIEL MURPHY<3
AHH JULIE I LOVE YOU SO MUCH BABY MURPH <3
HE IS SO PRECIOUS OHMYGOSH.
…original poster, I may have to follow you. I’m not the only person who screencapped this video after all! (Also, I named my cat after this boy.)

This is the picture I did by request for OhMurph.com, which is going to be starting up a fanart section. Somehow, they found me and asked me to draw Daniel, so I did!
Included in the bottom left corner is my fourth cat, Murphy. Upon learning that I named my cat after Daniel, they asked me to include him in the drawing, too.
I have no idea how they found me. It made me really, really excited, though - maybe my baseball artwork is actually getting around a bit! I’m so honored, honestly!
If you don’t follow my art blog on Tumblr yet, it’s here. You don’t have to follow it, of course. I’m just really excited that I got an art request from someone who’s not one of my friends for the first time ever.
Murph seems to be getting the hang of the jumping part…but I wonder how his throw was?
